3Dfx's last day...
by Tim @ 12:09 AM - [Comments]
Not sure how many people are still paying attention to this, but I figured I'd give everyone a heads up and provide you an opportunity to pay your final respects to the company that most people regard as the one that started the whole "3d craze". Even if their offerings towards the end were questionable, and their business decisions even more so, I don't believe 3d graphics would be anywhere near where they are now if it hadn't been for 3dfx. Their site says that Feb. 19 marks their last day on the internet. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

I remember the first time I saw Quake II on my home machine with the Voodoo I....

Or when I played Tomb Raider I with it....

Those were the days!

"Please be advised that on February 19, 2002, the 3dfx.com website will be shut down entirely"
It's still up today, the 20th.

Tomb Raider I + Voodoo I + Patch....

That's what made me get a 2.2 in my degree!

I miss that Voodoo card....

....sniff....sniff.....:(

GlQuakeWorld + Voodoo 1 + Team Fortress made me loose much sleep and many grades...

I miss that time... When TF were for that "select brand"...

'sobbing wildly due to nostalgia and alcohol* ;)
